Experiments with Neural Style Transfer Apps
(2016)
For every advancement in image generation AI there is a viral app. In 2016, the rage were these neural style transfer apps that used a machine learning algorithm to create dynamic filters on images. You could turn anything into Starry Night, or Hokusai's Great Wave, or Munch's The Stream. You could also use the same algos in beauty apps. Make that face perfect, that is, if the app can even detect a face. Most works presented were created in the Prisma App, which featured different art style filters that devoled into reaction-diffusion patterns with enough iterations; and some additional works were made on the Meitu Beauty app.
